2007 FOYD & 2008 FOYT Winner Robert Witte Named to 2009 Ten Ouststanding Young Americans

The Texas Jaycees recently named Mr. Witte one of “Five Outstanding Young Texans” for his professional and community contributions. In the legal community, he has served in leadership positions within the American Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, Dallas Bar Association and Dallas Young Lawyers Association (DAYL). In 2003, DAYL named Mr. Witte the “Outstanding Young Lawyer in Dallas,” based upon professional excellence and service to the community and the Dallas Bar Association.

Mr. Witte was a 2007 FOYD winner, 2008 FOYT Winner and is among one other Texan to be the first in 20 years to be named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans.

2008 FOYD Winner Raj Narayanan Named one of the Five Oustanding Young Texans

Raj Narayanan is the CEO and Founder of Aerospacequality Research and Development. Raj’s community involvement locally and internationally led him to be named one of the 2008 Five Oustanding Young Dallasites. Raj is the Director of International Service for the Addison Rotary Board, has been a Dallas Rotarian, and is a Leadership Dallas graduate. He has actively participated in multiple philanthropic projects benefiting our community and the world. Most recently, he was active in an effort delivering critical aid and supplies to orphanages in India.

Mr. Narayanan was recently named one of the 2009 Five Oustanding Young Texans along with 2008 FOYD winner Mary Goodrich Nix and will be honored at a ceremony in Sugarland, TX on August 8th.

Ms. Nix holds the AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available. In 2009, she was chosen as one of the “40 under Forty” business leaders by the Dallas Business Journal and, the same year, was recognized as one of the “Best Business Attorneys” by D Magazine. In 2008, she was selected by the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce as one of “Five Outstanding Young Dallasites,” and had the privilege of receiving the award from Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert. The Texas Junior Chamber recently selected her as one of its “Five Outstanding Young Texans.”

Ms. Nix has recently been named one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans and will be honored along with co-2008 FOYD winner Raj Narayanan at a ceremony in Sugarland, TX on August 8th.

Join the DJCC for our March Happy Hour that will take place at Vino 100 ( 2909 Mckinney Ave # A Dallas, TX 75204) at 6:30pm on March 19th. The happy hour will serve as the Easter Egg Hunt Supply Collection Happy Hour. We will collect supplies at the happy hour for the DJCC Easter Egg Hunt that is scheduled later in March. In return for a $10 donation of supplies or cash to be used to purchase Easter Egg Hunt supplies, you will get a wristband that will entitle you to great drink specials! Supplies that can be donated include plastic Easter eggs, candy, etc. For questions about the happy hour, contact connecting@djcc.us. About the DJCC Winetasting

The DJCC Winetasting is one of our signature philanthropic and social events, with
all proceeds benefitting our Easter Egg Hunt for the Blind and the Texas Division of
Blind Services (DBS), which assists blind or visually impaired individuals and their
families. Nearly 450 people joined us for Taste 2008, and we are looking to
surpassing our numbers this year. You don’t want to miss out on this exciting event!

Volunteers

We’re looking for a few dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to assist us with the
planning of this event. Please contact our event chair Chris Kobler at
winetasting@djcc.us or join us at any of the following committee meetings, which
will be held at Brian’s Wine at at 3111 Monticello Ave # A Dallas, TX 75205 (across
the street from the Corner Bar).

Nancy Barry is a speaker, Gen Y expert and author of When Reality Hits: What Employers Want Recent College Graduates to Know. One of her passions is helping young professionals be successful in their careers. Her other passion is helping business leaders understand Gen Y.

On January 13, Nancy will focus on surviving and succeeding in a multi-generational workforce. For the first time in history, there are four generations in the workplace. Who are these people and why can’t they all get along?! During this lively session, Nancy will provide insight into each generation – who they are, what they want and what makes them different from other generations. She will share simple solutions on how to get all the generations to work well together and create a work environment filled with mutual respect and collaboration. This is one meeting you won’t want to miss!

Nancy will also be selling and autographing copies of her book at the January 13th event.

DJCC Holiday Party
