<p>For the last eleven years, the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce (DJCC) has hosted the Beeping Easter Egg Hunt, one of our signature philanthropic events, benefiting blind children in connection with the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). This extraordinary, emotional event allows visually-impaired children and their families the opportunity to participate in a specially designed Easter Egg Hunt using custom made &#8216;beeping eggs&#8217;</p>
<p>We will also have a pinata and face painting activities around with the Easter Egg Hunt!</p>
<p><strong>The  Beeping Easter Egg Hunt will be at Nash Davis Park (3710 N. Hampton Rd., Dallas, TX) from 10:am-1pm.</strong></p>

At More Cabbage, we spend most of our time talking to major companies about how they manage and build their brand. It’s important however, that we also work to manage the perception of the company through social employees. Learn how integrated conversations can be, how we use Social PR to lead friends, fans and followers into champion referring, based on the premise that people do business with people who they know, like, trust and connect with.</p>

<p><strong>TASTE</strong> is an annual charitable wine tasting event that features over 15 premiere wines from around the globe. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p id="top" />The Dallas Community Police Awards Committee will join us Tuesday, <strong>November 1</strong> at West Village&#8217;s <strong>Landmark Magnolia Theater</strong> (3699 McKinney Ave, Dallas).  The DJCC will be presenting the Officer of the Month award to Officer Joon Kim.  Networking and cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. with the program starting at 7:00 p.m.  Additionally, we will be discussing upcoming elections.  If you are interested in being a part of the Board of Directors in 2012 please join us at this month’s meeting as we will be accepting nominations.  The board consists of the following positions: President, Executive VP, VP of Business Development, VP of Communications, VP of Finance, VP of Member Development and VP of Philanthropy.</p>
<p><strong>President </strong>– The Chief Executive Officer and the guiding force in the chapter; he or she presides over the Board of Directors and the membership.</p>
<p><strong>Executive Vice President</strong> – Arranges monthly meeting speakers and logistics, directly supports the President with<br />
any special projects.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Business Development</strong><strong> </strong>– Is the leader in chapter advancement through fundraising and he or she is the chapter liaison to the Foundation Board. Additionally, he or she organizes happy hours, post meeting networking and works to<br />
create partnerships with other young professional groups in the city.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Communications</strong> – Is responsible for promoting chapter activities both externally and internally through the chapter e-newsletter, social media (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), email, area media outlets and other communications. Additionally, he or she maintains all Information Technology, including membership database, website and e-mail.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Finance</strong> – Ensures that all financial records are kept for the chapter, oversees committee budgets and corresponds with legal counsel and Foundation Board.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Member Development</strong> – Manages membership recruitment, activation, development and retention.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Philanthropy </strong>– He or she arranges service events, directs efforts to identify community needs and determines the best way to achieve the results.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p id="top" />Elections will be held at the <strong>Landmark Magnolia Theater </strong>(3699 McKinney Ave, Dallas) on Tuesday, <strong>December 6</strong> at 6:30 p.m.  We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys benefiting Children&#8217;s Medical Center of Dallas.  If you are interested in serving on the 2012 Board of Directors contact Chair Tiffany Vanek at <a href="mailto:chair@djcc.us">chair@djcc.us</a>.   The board consists of the following positions: President, Executive VP, VP of Business Development, VP of Communications, VP Community Affairs, VP of Finance, VP of Member Development, VP of Networking and VP of Philanthropy.</p>
<p><strong>President </strong>– This is a two year commitment.  The Chief Executive Officer and the guiding force in the chapter; he or she presides over the Board of Directors and the membership.  The President presides at all meetings and events of the Chamber; serves as the spokesperson for the DJCC; and shall be an ex-officio member of all committees.</p>
<p><strong>Executive Vice President</strong> – This position serves as the Chief Operating Officer.  The EVP is responsible for handling overall operations and logistics for the Chamber.  The EVP arranges speakers, agendas and facilities for the member meetings.  He or she directly supports the President with special projects and stands in for the President, as needed.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Business Development</strong><strong> </strong>– This position is responsible for DJCC advancement and fundraising by developing and maintaining business relationships in the Dallas community.  It is through the efforts of the VP of Business Development that the DJCC establishes mutually beneficial partnerships with sponsors to assist in the continued success of the DJCC.  Additionally, he or she is responsible for organizing monthly happy hours and post meeting networking and cocktails.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Communications</strong> – This position handles Chamber external affairs.  He or she is responsible for distributing press releases to all media outlets.  Promoting DJCC activities via the website, social media (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), email, and advertising.  Helps maintain all information technology via website and email systems.  Works closely with each Vice President and Event Chairs to promote, communicate and implement marketing strategies.  This person should have excellent writing skills and experience with brand management.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Community Affairs – </strong>This person will be responsible for arranging Monthly Happy Hours, preparing and sending out the monthly newsletter &amp; attracting small business sponsorships &amp; donations.  This person will work closely with the VP of Communications and the VP of Business Development.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Finance</strong> – This position serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Chamber.  Ensures that all financial documents and records are kept and updated.  These financial records include: all contracts, dues billings, tax information, bank records, correspondence with legal counsel, and interaction with the DJCC Foundation.  He or she also issues reimbursements, bill payments, and invoices.  This person should have experience dealing with budgets, banks and bookkeeping.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Member Development</strong> – The position is responsible for member recruitment, development, and retention.  Serves as the DJCC liaison to the JCI Training Program and arranges JCI Professional Development Trainings annually.  Responsibilities include managing the membership database, new member activities and the membership table.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Networking</strong> – This person will be responsible for helping members connect with other members at Happy Hours and Meetings.  They will work closely with the VP of Member Development and further assist in membership retention and attraction.</p>
<p><strong>Vice President of Philanthropy </strong>– This person is the leader in the DJCC&#8217;s philanthropic endeavors.  He or she is responsible for identifying the Dallas community&#8217;s need and addresses the need by arranging community service projects.  Additionally, responsible for heading the Beeping Easter Egg Hunt committee (the event will be held on one of the last two weekends of March 2012).</p>
<p><strong>Commitment:</strong></p>
<p>One year commitment, including two transition months of December 2011 and January 2013</p>
<p>One-on-one transitional meeting with member who previously held office</p>
<p>Attend Board Retreat in January or February 2012</p>
<p>Attend every Board meeting (monthly basis)</p>
<p>Attend every membership meeting</p>
<p>Must attend an acceptable percentage of various events</p>
<p>Assist with DJCC signature events</p>
