Easter Egg Hunt
The Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce hosts an Easter Egg Hunt for the Blind each year. The Easter Egg Hunt is one of the DJCC’s signature philanthropic events. This extraordinary, emotional event allows visually impaired children to hunt for specially designed beeping eggs. With the assistance of DJCC volunteers, visually impaired children and their sighted siblings, cousins and family friends are invited to participate in the egg hunts and other fun activities scheduled for the day such as games, pinatas, face painting and clowns. Also, the Easter Bunny makes an appearance at the event!
The Easter Egg Hunt benefits the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). DARS assists blind or visually impaired individuals and their families. Depending upon their goals and needs, DARS offers services to help the visually impaired regain independence, find a job, or live independently. They also help children receive the training needed to be successful in school and beyond.
