Wilkinson Center Service Event

The Wilkinson Center was founded in 1982 to address the needs of impoverished Dallas residents.  The Wilkinson Center’s mission is still to assist individuals and families to break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient.  The center offers holistic solutions to impoverished families.  First, the immediate needs of the family are met such as food and clothing needs.  Then, the Wilkinson Center offers programs such as adult education, case management, and after-school programs to train families to handle their own economic needs.

The DJCC will volunteer at the Wilkinson Center on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:30pm.  We will help with a variety of small tasks that the staff cannot complete during their normal work day.  We will be helping with projects such as working in the library, packaging school supplies for storage, and painting a hallway.  The Wilkinson Center is located at 5200 Bryan Street Dallas, TX  75206.

If you have questions or would like to volunteer to help, please contact Kristal at service@djcc.us.  Please RSVP if you plan to join us so the center can have the proper number of projects ready for our group.
